Rzeszów, the capital of the Podkarpackie voivodeship. Therefore, the seat of the authorities and the most important institutions is located here. The city used to be the residence of the Polish aristocracy. In the city there are numerous parks and forest areas – including the Lisia Góra nature reserve established in 2003 – which lies over the Rzeszów Reservoir established in 1973. The voivodeship capital is an important economic and industrial center. The dynamic development of the city contributes to the expansion of its area. As an important cultural and scientific center, it has a long list of cultural institutions: museums, galleries, theaters, libraries and philharmonics. A festival is organized in the city, which has gained international character – the Carpathia Festival. In Rzeszów in Podpromie Hall (one of the largest in the country) various events are organized, eg: volleyball matches (World League), Construction Fair or Exhibition of Pigeons and Dogs. Interestingly, within the city, in the very center, is the Museum of Bedtime Stories. The gems of the collection there are original dolls from such fables as: “Teddy Colargol”, “Bear Uszatek” or “Plastusiowy Diary”.
Train to Rzeszow
The Rzeszów railway station is situated in the city centre. Pendolino, IC i TLK trains are serviced here. You may travel directly to, among others: Cracow, Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań, Szczecin, Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk or Lviv.
