In that in mind we have prepared the list of destinations and resorts for your ski season that you may reach by train!
By train to Zakopane
This is the unquestionable winter holiday capital. The surrounding mountains not only attracts the skiers but also the hikers. A large selection of routes varied in terms of difficulty makes everyone will find a slope adequate to their skill level. The skillful skiers will definitely be happy to experience the Alpine character Kasprowy Wierch ride. Less experienced skiers will manage to ride down the Polana Szymoszkowa. Zakopane is perfectly communicated with the entire Poland. You may travel there by PKP Intercity and TLK trains as far as from the remote

Białka Tatrzańska
A few kilometers away from Zakopane Białka Tatrzańska is located, where there is currently the largest ski resort in the region – Kotelnica. Good infrastructure, thermal pools, a number of slopes of varying difficulty and a unique highlander climate make Białka one of the most fashionable and popular ski resorts in Poland. We get to Białka among others by bus leaving daily from the car park at the Zakopane Railway Station.
By train to Wisla
A real pearl of the Silesian Beskids, known primarily for the figure of Adam Małysz and the Gołębiewski hotel. There are over 10 ski stations in Wisla, which makes it a large center and an ideal place to spend the family holiday. The difficulty level of trails is varied, so both advanced skiers and beginners will manage. The gentle slopes of the Silesian Beskids are also suitable for skiing and cross-country skiing. You can get to Wisła by train, among others from cities such as Katowice, Warsaw and Czestochowa.

By train to Szklarska Poręba
Ski Arena Szrenica is a very important point on the ski map of Poland. The resort offers over 12 km of ski slopes. Thanks to modern infrastructure and artificial snow, the routes are always in good condition for the downhill ride. The picturesque location of the resort in the heart of the Giant Mountains makes it also attractive areas for hiking and skiing. The proximity of the border makes it possible to meet skiers and tourists from the Czech Republic and Germany. You can reach Szklarska Poręba by PKP Intercity trains, including from cities such as Warsaw, Wrocław, Częstochowa and Opole.

By train to Rabka-Zdrój
Known primarily as the City of Children and the spa, which attracts patients from all over Poland. In the summer Rabka impresses with a beautiful Spa Park and Graduation Tower. In winter, it encourages walking and cross-country skiing. It is also a good starting point for hiking trips, among others on Turbacz, Maciejowa or Stare Wierchy. The historic Railway Station located in the center of the town means that after leaving the train we are immediately in the heart of Rabka. Trains commute to the village, including from Cracow, Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk and Łódź. From Rabka by train we will reach Zakopane in less than an hour.

Kasina Wielka
From Rabka you can go skiing to Kasina Wielka, less than 20 km away, which owes its fame to the outstanding ski runner Justyna Kowalczyk and the longest downhill route in the vicinity of Cracow at Śnieżnica, i.e. the Kasina SKI station. Thanks to artificial snow and lighting, the station provides skiers with good conditions to ride almost all day.
By train to Krynica-Zdrój
Jaworzyna Krynicka hosts the longest Gondola Railway in Poland operating both in the summer and winter months. On its slopes, there are 7 downhill slopes for skiers, of which more than half of them have FIS approval. The picturesque location in the Beskid Sądecki and the proximity of the ski resort on Wierchomla make Krynica an ideal place for active winter holidays.

Can you transport skis on the train?
Skiers with a train ticket for a given journey can carry one pair of skis for free. Skis can be placed in the space above and below the seat on the train. If the equipment or luggage does not fit under or above the occupied seat, an additional fee of PLN 5.10 should be paid. Additional payments must be made to the train conductor.
